Heat pump repair and servicing in Nairobi
Sonnen diagnoses and repairs heat pump water heaters across Nairobi and Kenya, regardless of brand or original installer. We also keep systems performing with scheduled servicing, and give honest advice on repair versus replacement.
When something's wrong
Common heat pump problems
Any of these can have several causes. We diagnose the actual problem rather than guessing at a fix, and if a system was installed or specified poorly, we'll tell you.
Not heating
The water is lukewarm or cold when it should be hot.
Tripping
The breaker trips, or the unit shuts itself off repeatedly.
Noise
A new or louder noise, or vibration, that wasn't there before.
Error codes
A fault code or alert on the unit or in its app.
Low hot water output
Hot water runs out sooner than it used to, or the temperature drops at the tap.
If a unit keeps tripping, switch it off and contact us rather than resetting it again and again.
Repairs
Any brand, whoever installed it
Sonnen repairs heat pump water heaters regardless of brand or original installer. If a system installed by another company is underperforming or has broken down, we find the cause first, then recommend what it needs.
- Diagnostics for heat pumps and solar water heaters, any brand or installer
- Sourcing of replacement parts and components
- Repairs that address the root cause, not just the symptom
- Straight advice on repair versus replacement, based on the system's real condition
Routine servicing
Why servicing matters
Most breakdowns are preventable. Regular servicing catches wear before it becomes a callout, keeps efficiency where it should be and extends the working life of the system. For a heat pump, efficiency is the point: it is what keeps the electricity saving in place.
- Scheduled service visits, timed around seasonal demand
- Performance checks against original design specs
- Priority servicing for commercial sites, apartment complexes and management committees
- Straightforward records of what was checked and what was done, useful for handovers and audits
Repair or replace?
Honest advice, not an upsell
Sometimes a repair is the right call and sometimes replacement makes more sense. Sonnen advises based on the system's real condition, and will tell you which it is.
