Air-source

Up to three-quarters less electricity for the same hot water.

Air-source heat pumps move heat instead of making it, delivering several units of heat for every unit of electricity they draw. For hot water and heating, they are the most efficient electric option available and they keep working through the night and the cold.

What it is

The idea, plainly

A heat pump extracts warmth from the outside air and concentrates it into your water. Because it transfers heat rather than generating it with a resistance element, it can be three to four times more efficient than a conventional electric geyser.

How it works

  1. 01

A fan draws ambient air across an evaporator, capturing free heat.

  2. 02

A compressor raises that heat to a useful temperature.

  3. 03

The heat is transferred into your water through a heat exchanger.

  4. 04

Smart controls run it at the most efficient point for the conditions.

The payoff

What you get

For your home

  • Around 70% less electricity than a standard electric water heater
  • Hot water day and night, independent of sunshine
  • All-in-one units with the tank and pump integrated
  • Quiet operation, suitable for tight installations
  • By-product cool air can be ducted to a store, server room or bathroom

For business & institutions

  • Dramatically lower running costs at scale
  • Consistent output regardless of weather or time of day
  • Commercial capacities for high continuous demand
  • Pairs with solar thermal for a multi-energy hot-water plant
  • By-product cool air can be ducted to a store, server room or kitchen
